a group in greater edmonton trying to care about others well, be good to the planet, and follow Jesus
sundays
we are a church, so we usually do something together on sundays. we meet at 11am at 4725-106 avenue in edmonton (located at mount carmel bible college). we also like trying new things, though, so it's hard to describe a "typical" sunday. we usually send out an email

what we're all about
what we're all about
we’re a group of family and friends wanting to grow a new community of Jesus followers that we’re calling peace christian community. christians have been doing this for the past couple of millenia.
our hope for “this version” of Jesus community includes all of the following foci and buzzwords:
our hope for “this version” of Jesus community includes all of the following foci and buzzwords:
Jesus, food-folks-fun, mission of God, minimal ecclesiology, flexibility & variety, kids matter, Jesus, doubt & questions / civil discourse, contextual (we’re in edmonton in the 2020s), Jesus, welcoming, justice, centered-set theology/generous orthodoxy, Jesus, deep thinking and plain language, participation and empowerment, Jesus, ancient-future faith, and network.
we try to keep our list of beliefs simple, so we think it's best to stick with what has been handed down to us from christians through the ages. the earliest versions of these beliefs can be found in the apostle’s creed and the nicene creed.
we also believe that people can really love Jesus and still be pretty different in some of our other beliefs. we hope we can be the kind of place where we have humility, gentleness and grace with each other as we learn and grow in our walks with God, even if we don’t always agree on everything.
we are a work in progress. if you are a work in progress too, and you want to journey with us for a little (or long) while, you are most welcome here.
