The year is barrelling to its ending like one of Elon Musk\u2019s hyperloop trains, which travels at over 700mph, but also may not work<\/a>. This month at A Jesus Community<\/a>*, there are several things underway, including a bit of service, a bit of learning, a bit of community, and more. Details are below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Church name is currently being reviewed for less-hippie-esque, but also possibly more bland, alternatives.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

November 6, 2021 (Saturday) @ 1pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We will be packing lunches at Mount Carmel<\/a> at 1pm on Saturday, November 6 for Inner City Pastoral Ministry<\/a> (ICPM) to use in their work with people living on street level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There won\u2019t be an official church service the next day (Sunday, November 7), which is perhaps helpful since it is also the end of Daylight Savings. Now you won\u2019t run the risk of being an hour late! Or is it an hour early?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To continue the weekend\u2019s theme of \u201cloving our neighbours,\u201d though, consider asking someone you love \u2014 or are wanting to learn to love \u2014 over for a meal or visit that day (keeping in mind COVID restrictions, of course!). No need to tell them which category they fall into!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This month\u2019s \u201cBorrow Sunday\u201d will borrow from the long-standing church practice of sharing testimonies<\/a>. We\u2019re calling this \u201cOlde Time-y Testimony Sunday.\u201d We will learn about why this practice has been important to Christians and hear a few testimonies ourselves \u2014 don\u2019t worry, though: no one will be put on the spot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would you be interested in sharing your testimony? Feel free to <\/em><\/strong>email me<\/em><\/strong><\/a> if you\u2019d be willing to share (~5 mins or so).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our \u201cEvent Sunday\u201d this month, Joy will be leading us in something awesome, which she describes here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you always wishing for deeper community and wondering how to get to know the people you know? Look no further. This week at Event Sunday, we are going to be having fun getting to actually know one another. Come as you are\u2026 but it never hurts to reflect on your favourite movie, book, etc.
I promise a non-confrontational morning of good fun \u2014 and that you\u2019ll leave with at least one less acquaintance (not cause you offended them, but because they\u2019re now a friend!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
