Summertime… Between camps and vacations and just getting out and enjoying the weather, the time seems to have flown by. Here\u2019s the plan for the month of August 2021:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 8 at 1pm, we are going to be borrowing<\/a> from some of our brothers and sisters in the Religious Society of Friends, a.k.a. the Quakers. A Quaker service, which is called \u201ca meeting for worship,\u201d is characterized<\/a> by silence, listening, and careful consideration. We\u2019ll the start the time together by introducing what it is we\u2019re doing \u2014 so don\u2019t worry if you\u2019ve never done a Quaker-style meeting before: we haven\u2019t either!<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019re interested in how this week went, <\/em>check out our write-up<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Sunday event that is happening on the ides of August (is every 15th of the month called an \u201cides\u201d?) isn\u2019t a typical \u201cchurch\u201d event<\/a>: we\u2019ll be meeting at Jay and Margie\u2019s to play games and eat together. Pray for those who are affected by this most directly!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n On August 22 at 1pm, Joy is going to be doing a more talk-centric\/teaching-oriented presentation. This falls under our \u201cWord!\u201d Sunday<\/a> category. Here\u2019s a preview from Joy on what she\u2019ll be speaking on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n This week we\u2019re gonna talk about how God really sees us and how we can tap into that grace-filled vision!
