What’s Happening in May 2022

The month of May came and nearly went without comment on this blog space; however, for the sake of posterity, here’s what happened!

May 1, 2022 @ 11am

This Sunday is Brunch Sunday, so we’re going to try to do brunch — and we’ll start by making some of the food together at Mount Carmel Bible College. We’ll have some fruit to cut, pancake batter to fry, and whatever other stuff people want to bring.

No guarantee that this is what brunch will look like. Also, are those dandelions? (Photo by Brooke Lark on Unsplash)

May 8, 2022 @ 11am

Borrow Sunday this week will be a variation on Lectio Divina. Jay will be leading the time together. Because of a few families being away, we’ll be meeting at Jay and Margie’s this week.

If you need the address, email info@peacecommunity.ca.

May 15, 2022 @ 11am

Due to some unfortunate sickness, we won’t be having a typical Sunday this week; anyone who is inclined, though, should feel free to come to the Gurnetts, though, for snacks, drinks, and conversation.

If you need the address, email info@peacecommunity.ca.

May 22, 2022 @ 11am

Because it’s a long weekend, we’ll be taking a break from formal gathering next week; in other words, it’s Sabbatical Sunday! Don’t hesitate to connect with other folks from Peace or friends or family. Or maybe a neighbour who needs to meet a Jesus-follower.

May 29, 2022 @ 4:30pm

This Sundaywe’ll be having a picnic. Plan is to meet at at Gold Bar Park, Group Site #1, just east of the parking lot, at 4:30pm. Margie and Jay will bring hot dogs/sausages/buns/condiments and tools to cook them (do it yourself at the fire pit if you choose). Bring your own plates/utensils, salads and/or desserts to share if you would like, and friends!

This is not what Gold Bar Park looks like; however, I do think it is the park across the street from the Full House house in San Francisco. (Photo by Paul Kim on Unsplash)

As more details unfold about each week, we’ll keep updating this page. Please note that our in-person events will follow any applicable guidelines for COVID-19. Currently, as masks are not legislated, we would welcome people to do what they are most comfortable doing (either wearing a mask or not) with love and consideration for others. If you are interested in joining via Zoom on one of the weeks where this is available, send an email to Jeff at info@peacecommunity.ca.
