What’s Happening in November 2023

I’ll skip the preamble this month because I’m getting this out late! Whoops! So, no picture either…

  • Saturday, November 4: This weekend instead of meeting on Sunday we are going to be packing lunches for our friends at Inner City Pastoral Ministries (ICPM) on Saturday at 4pm at Mount Carmel. We do this twice a year as a way to support the work of the Community of Emmanuel, which meets at the Bissell Centre downtown. After we pack the lunches, we’ll be having a potluck together starting around 5pm — so please bring something (and if you can mark if it’s gluten/dairy/egg/or nut free that would be helpful!). Jim Gurnett, who serves with ICPM, will be joining us as well and will say a bit about what’s happening there. Sunday, November 5: For Sunday, we will need a few volunteers to bring the lunch bags downtown. (Also this Sunday is “fall back” so you’ll gain an hour).
  • Sunday, November 12: This Sunday, we’ll be meeting at Mount Carmel at 11am as usual. Jay will be speaking about Jesus and his friends. Sunday School is available for grade 6 and down.
  • Sunday, November 19: This week we’re going to be hearing from some people in our community as they share with us about their work lives and faith. Sunday School will be available for grade 6 and down.
  • Sunday, November 26: Two Word Sundays in one month? Bizarre. This Sunday we’ve got Jeff speaking about how Jesus dealt with those who were hostile to him. Sunday School will be available for grade 6 and down.
